Journal 3-27-14

John 14:6 – I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.
Isaiah 35 – The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the crocus; it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty of our God. Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong, fear not; behold your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God He will come and save you.” Then the eyes of the blind will be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap like a deer and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters break forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert; the burning sand shall be a pool and the thirsty ground springs of water in the haunts of jackals where they lie down the grass shall become reeds and rushes. And a highway shall be there and it shall be called the way of holiness, the unclean shall not pass over it. It shall belong to those who walk on the way; even if they are fools they shall not go astray. No lion shall be there. Nor shall any ravenous beast come upon it. They shall not be found there and the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing everlasting joy shall be upon their heads. They shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

I would like you to take out your Bible and read Isaiah 34. It speaks on God’s judgment of the nations. Let me tell you, He is pissed off. Verse 2, “For the lord is enraged against all the nations and furious against all their hosts. He has devoted them to destruction. He has given them over to slaughter.”
Sin has corrupted the world we live in and God, I’m sure, has not been happy with the conduct and behavior of man for a very long time. We see that in the 34th chapter of Isaiah. It shares a bit about his feelings and what He plans to do with this world one day soon. I do not want to be here when He gets ready to have court! In the book of John we learn that Jesus came to earth as a man to live and die for us so that we would be able to receive a not guilty sentence on that very day. God, the judge, the one who will convict us, found not one man worthy of innocence or life. So He sent Jesus Christ to be our comforter or our intercessor, our counselor, our advocate, our attorney. What is the job of Jesus? He is our attorney. He pleads for our case! Just like all judges and attorneys, they have favor with one another and for that reason Jesus Christ is able to plead our case. It says that we are only to gain access to freedom (heaven) if we hire an attorney, Jesus Christ, as our defense in the many cases of sin that we commit. He is the only one who can get us the not guilty plea we all want so that we can live forever in a place like Isaiah 35 describes.
So who do you have hired as your defense attorney? One of Satan’s fakes or Jesus Christ the comforter? How do you live your life? Is it pleasing to the world or pleasing to the comforter? That’s how you know for sure who you have as an attorney! I encourage you to evaluate your situation and make sure that Jesus Christ is your attorney otherwise you’re in for a real rude awakening on the day that Jesus Christ returns! There are but a few simple things you must do to gain access to Jesus Christ as your attorney. His service is free and it’s the best in the world. The only real comfort that a man can have is found in Him. So read, pray, turn from sin, surround yourself with people doing the same and get on your knees and ask Jesus Christ to be your attorney.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I ask you to help all the people of the world who don’t have Jesus Christ as their attorney figure out what that means and how to get that done. Thank you for sending your son to defend my sorry butt! I would have received the death penalty without Him. Thank you! In Jesus name, Amen

Thoughts: I hope my friends, family, and my kids see that living for the world is not cool. It’s way over rated and the only real for sure way to receive the gift of life forever is to live for Jesus Christ. The directions are in the book. Read them so you don’t screw it up! Love you guys.
