2 Timothy 4:7-8 – I
have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord,
the righteous Judge will award to me on that day and not only to me but also to
all who have loved His appearing.
Psalm 7:11 – God is a
righteous Judge and a God who feels indignation every day.
John 5:24 – Truly,
truly I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has
eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to
life.
You
should also probably take time to get the Bible on your night stand or out of
your closet and knock the dust off of it and read Romans 2. I’ve been fighting
for 42 years to do it on my own, looking for love and acceptance in all the
wrong places. I know that God notices my efforts today and as I have a long way
to go and a short time to get there, I feel refreshed that I am not lost. God
will judge me appropriately, but I have finally passed from death to life by
the grace of God.
Prayer: Jesus,
help me to recognize the call you have on my life today. Thank you for being my
Judge. I pray that my name and my loved ones names will count for you and the
good of your kingdom.
Thoughts: Every day is
a new challenge and new problems will always come up. We want to be able to say
at the end of each day, good or bad, that we have fought the good fight and
kept the faith. Sometimes if we are out of practice it’s hard to remember God
and what He wants us to do in a trying situation. Often times we go with our
natural instinct to react like humans and usually, being out of practice, that
is not the right thing to do. That’s why I often say read, pray, turn from sin,
and surround yourselves with people doing the same, so that we are at our best
always and at the end of the day we can feel good about our day and know that
we have stayed in the game by honoring God and living a life that would be
pleasing to Him.
