1 Chronicles 16:11 – Seek
the lord and His strength, seek His presence continually.
Deuteronomy 4:29 – But
from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find Him, if you search
after Him with all your heart and soul.
1 Chronicles 28:9-10
– And you Solomon my son, know the God of your Father and serve Him with a
whole heart and with a willing spirit, for the Lord searches all hearts and
understands every plan and thought. If you seek Him He will be found by you,
but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever. Be careful now, for the
Lord had chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong and do it.
Today’s
post may incorporate a lot of scriptures but let me say they are important for
you to read to understand what God is doing in my life. My post today seems
special to me because those 3 verses give me explicit instructions from God.
Let me explain. For a few months now I’ve been praying over my life. Four
verses in particular have become my favorites lately: 1) Psalm 50:14-15 “offer
to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the most high, and
call upon me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you and you shall glorify
me” 2) Psalm 51:10-12 “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right
spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy
Spirit from me. Restore me to the joy of your salvation and uphold me with a
willing spirit.” 3) Psalm 90:17 “Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,
and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes establish the work of our
hands.” 4) Isaiah 1:15-17 “When you spread out your hands I will hide my eyes
from you. Even though you make many prayers I will not listen. Your hands are
full of blood. Wash yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before
my eyes. Cease to do evil, learn to do good, seek justice, correct oppression,
bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s case.”
If
you have been keeping up with my posts for a while you will know that I have
been interested in changing my life’s work to that of service to people,
families, and children of addicted mothers and fathers and those who have
struggles in their life. I feel like for many years God has hid his eyes from
my prayers and because of my new found faith and his guidance I feel like I’m
pursuing the later part of Isaiah 1:15-17 and making a sacrifice, which is my
life decision to turn from sin (Psalm 50:14-15) and for that He is creating in
me a clean heart (Psalm 51:10-12) and I definitely see Him establishing the
work of our hands (Psalm 90:17). So today, 1 Chronicles 16:11, Deuteronomy
4:29, and 1 Chronicles 28:9-10 are all important verses and instruction for me
to live my life this way. Verse 10 in 1 Chronicles 28 really stands out to me
as conformation from God. You see I’ve been praying to stay close to my kids,
start or help with a halfway house or something like that and develop a
construction or yard business for people like me to get back on our feet. I
believe that God has given me a man with a project or ministry to help with in
Springfield Missouri and I am waiting on conformation from God right now! I
believe he is building something and raising money for something like what I’m
interested in helping with. To top it off an inmate and friend of mine has
offered to donate 100,000 dollars to the cause and although the money has not
been sent yet, I believe it is going to be soon. I feel all this coming
together just as God has planned and look forward to seeing what else God does!
I am very excited and can’t wait for a response from the guy who God told me to
write to in Springfield and see what is really going on. I feel big things are
happening and I must give all the credit to the Lord. Amen
Prayer: Father
God, I seek your face today. I ask for your guidance, wisdom, and strength in
all that I do for your glory not mine. Amen
Thoughts: For several
months I’ve been trying to do God’s work and make plans for my life. Sometimes
I get dry feeling with my writing and today God really spoke to me in His
scripture. Most days I try to write for you guys and hope that my words speak
to you! Today this lesson or post has been for me. There are 7 scriptures in
this post that God has revealed to me today. Four of them I almost have
memorized because I read them so often. The 3 verses today I gathered for my
blog along with the 4 give me hope that God is giving me another chance and
that He’s got good things in store for me, and my family. I mean to tell you,
He just threw those scriptures off the page at me today and together they all
make sense to me with what I am hoping and praying for my life.
