Growth of our Ministry

In October, I was arrested and my world was turned upside down once again. I quickly hit my knees and told God that I was not happy with my life and if He would lead me I would follow, this time His way and not mine. The first thing that went through my mind when I got locked up was the last thing on my mind at the time, my family and their lively hood. Crazy what we take for granted. When I realized I was going to be here a while, I started asking God what I could do for Him while I am in here, something that would benefit my family as well. So we started a blog. My oldest daughter and her husband are the back bone of this whole deal. Today, almost 6 months later, it is more than I’ve ever expected. To us it is a full blown ministry and an opportunity to serve the Lord every day. It has grown from my kids and family to many people via internet, facebook, and blogspot to hand delivered mail in Missouri and Arkansas.
God is doing amazing things and this ministry continues to grow every week. That is the reason for my letter. You see, my daughter and I want this ministry to keep growing. We want to be able to reach people who are hard to be reached. So we need your help. Please forward the site www.freedbythefather.blogspot.com or the facebook page “Free At Last” to others and encourage them to do the same. It is our purpose to minister to people with life controlling problems, to give them encouragement and hope that God has not turned His back on them. We encourage you to send us prayer requests and testimonies to post. We are looking for help to possibly design a website and take it a step further. If any of you have information on that please feel free to contact my daughter at cdl.freeatlast@gmail.com.
Also, I am looking for people to sponsor her in her efforts to finance the printing and mailing costs necessary to mail these journals out to men and women in prison who do not have access to the internet. Right now there are 20 inmates receiving the devotional journals every week and our mailing list is growing in numbers weekly! Zarria is in college and donates her time and money to this cause. As any father would be, I am constantly afraid that she will try and overdue it, putting strain on her studies and marriage. She promises me she won’t. If you feel led to help her with printing and mailing costs, please email her at cdl.freeatlast@gmail.com and ask her how to do that and what the need is. It is not much at this time but I do not think this ministry is going to stop growing! Many people in prison ask me to send them copies of these devotional journals. Right now I have copies going to 3 or 4 different prisons and try to keep them one to a barrack and let the men pass them around. Finances permitted we would send copies to all who request them; that would increase our chances of reaching someone that is sitting in silence and really needs a word of encouragement. For those without the Lord in their life, it can be a very lonely place in prison. Please help me touch a life and save a soul!
