Zarria, Nick, Savanah, Faith, Hunter, Mia – This story in Jeremiah talks about the call that God had on Jeremiah’s life. He says “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you and before you were born I consecrated you. I appointed you a prophet to the nations. Do not say I am only a youth, for to all to whom I send you, you shall go and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid for I am with you and I will deliver you!” I know that it may be hard for you to recognize at this point in your life but you all have a very big role to play in God’s kingdom. He also has plans for you! He did not create you to create strife and for you to struggle. He knew you before you were in the womb. He knew me before I was in the womb. We were planned. We have a purpose. There is a reason God created all of us. A reason He made me your father and you my children. You are all important and God needs all of you to figure out what that is as early in life as possible.
Life is like a battle sometimes. The devil gets in our heads at an early age and sometimes we don’t even recognize that it is the devil. But it is and we won’t know it till many years later. That is why it is so important from an early age to read, pray, turn from sin, and surround yourself with people doing the same. As we go through life we can do one of two things: we can either do it our way or His way. Our way will get you a big mess but God’s way will get you what he promises “I will make you a fortified city, and Iron pillar, and bronze walls, against the whole land, and all its people” (v.18). What does that say? That you will have success, you will be strong, and that you can put one foot in front of the other with confidence knowing always without a shadow of a doubt that God is with you because He says it in verse 17 that the world will fight against you but not to worry because they will not win. I am with you, He says, I have your back. God said that to you in the book of Jeremiah 1000’s of years ago. He was speaking to you as well as Jeremiah.
So live your life according to His purpose and be obedient to Him. He has a plan for you and you won’t know what that is unless you learn to listen to Him not me, your mother, or your friends. The best way I know to tell you how to do that is to start anywhere anytime serving the Lord with all your heart. Make Him a part of everything you do. He is our God and all that He created is good. Don’t let anyone tell you any different.
Prayer
Father God, we pray Lamentations 3:24-26 today. You are our everything, Lord, all we will ever need and for that we put our hope in you Father. It says in your word, Lord, that you are good to those who look to you and wait patiently for you to save us. So we wait Father for you to reveal your spirit to us and show us the way. I pray father God that your Holy Spirit gives us the confidence and ability to serve you in the very manner that you find acceptable and you show us your will for our lives so that we can carry that out. In Jesus name, Amen

If God could create the world and everything in it in just 7 days what do you think He could do with your life in the same 7 days? Give Him a shot. He might just surprise you!
